Glossary of Terms Engraving - Printing process using recessed metal die to press paper into die with or without ink. Considered the standard of quality over all printing techniques. Blind Embossing - Stamping raised letters or images into paper using pressure and die without adding color or foil. Letterpress - Use of metal cut to push ink into paper. Most often used on stocks with uneven surfaces such as leatherette finish used for Will covers and envelopes. Offset Lithography - Referred to as flat printing. Most common printing. Thermography - Finish of resin powder applied after printing which is then heated creating a raised effect. Most commonly found on business cards.
